About David
Born and raised in Southern California, David Monzingo's childhood love of film led him to pursue a career in the movies at the USC School of Cinema. When a surprise job offer came from Stan Winston Studio just weeks before his first day of college, David changed his plans and decided to give makeup effects a try, joining the SWS team at the age of 17.
After many years working for Stan Winston, he left the nest and joined the teams of other notable makeup effects artists, including Steve Johnson and Greg Cannom, before returning to his home at Stan Winston Studio and then continuing on with Stan's former team at Legacy Effects.
David lives happily in Los Angeles with his loving wife Carla and his adorable dogs Agnes and Ned. When not making monsters, he enjoys good food, traveling, and killing zombies.
