Fon Davis

In his three-decade career, Fon has worked on over 40 feature films. Both as an alumnus of the Industrial Light & Magic's Model Shop, where he contributed to Starship Troopers, Galaxy Quest, and the blockbuster Star Wars, Terminator, Mission Impossible, and Jurassic Park franchises.

In addition to his work in visual effects, Fon has also worked in several art departments on The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, A Christmas Carol, and Coraline, to name a few.

In recent years, Fon has loaned his talents to feature films Interstellar, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Elysium, as well as the hit TV series The Mandalorian.

Fon is currently a creative director at Fonco Studios, and you can find him on TV and the web as a celebrity judge on ABC's BattleBots, an instructor at the Stan Winston School, on shows including SuperFan Builds, Nerd Alert, Cake Masters, Starter Kit, Painter's Guild, and Adam Savage’s Tested. 

Fon actively supports the education, VFX, SPFX, robotics, 3d printing, maker, and geek culture communities through his work with disadvantaged youth programs, conventions around the world, the Visual Effects Society, Dwayne Johnson's Dwanta Claus organization, Glendale Unified School District, The Wounded Warrior Project, Expression College, Make: Magazine, The Make a Wish Foundation, Magic Wheelchair, and much more.

James A. Powell

James A. Powell has been building miniatures seriously since he was 12. He started building his custom model railroad creations, which morphed into larger and larger scales until those models grew huge and life-size.

James is the Founder and VP of Monster City Studios in Fresno, CA, and works in business development at Dangling Carrot Creative, a film & television company that produces 2D & 3D prints & props for film & television production. His theme park work involves producing themed environments for major parks like Disney, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and many others.

Along with his large-scale themed environment work, James also produces award-winning dystopian scale models in multiple scales. His work has been featured on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, ABC and NBC. James' miniature endeavors are currently sponsored by AMMO by Mig Jimenez, and multiple other manufacturers.
