About Andrew

ANDREW FREEMAN

Andrew grew up in Glendora, CA and in 2006 he started his FX career working at Boneyard FX for the Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights event. In 2010, he founded Immortal Masks in his garage. The company quickly grew, and in 2012 moved into an industrial building. Immortal Masks has continued to expand ever since and is widely considered to be one of the world’s finest creators of high-end silicone masks. Andrew and his co-owners, wife Michelle Freeman and George Frangadakis, share a passion for supplying movie-quality masks to commercials, movies, music videos, and haunted attractions around the world.

In 2017, Andrew joined the Face Off family for season 12, something he had wanted to do for years, but had been unable to due to growing his company. He won the season and made many friends while on the show.

About George

GEORGE FRANGADAKIS

Hailing from Saratoga, CA, mask maker, co-owner of Immortal Masks, and Stan Winston School teacher, George Frangadakis grew up in the 70s and it was Star Wars that began his love for movies and that would ultimately change his life. Originally intending to follow his father's footsteps and become a dentist, George earned a degree in Biochemistry from the University of the Pacific. But lacking passion for dentistry, George completely shifted gears and wound up running a Bay Area nightclub. His tenure in the nightclub industry would in some ways prepare him for Hollywood, but first, he needed training.

A chance meeting at Lucasfilm with conceptual artist Iain McCaig, was all it took. Iain suggested George study filmmaking. Three years later, George set out for Hollywood with a Masters in Producing and a whole lot of ambition. After a few enjoyable years working for the Emmys and the Academy Awards, George yearned for something a bit more “creative”. Then he met the late great Stan Winston. Stan explained that the FX industry needed people with producing skills. Within a week, George left the Academy and began working for V.G.P. Effects and Design Studio. Under the guidance of Vincent Guastini, he became familiar with the behind-the-scenes world of monsters and makeup.

George also met artist Andrew Freeman who would become a brother of sorts. Andrew had already started Immortal Masks two years prior but was ready to make the leap from garage workshop to full-fledged studio. Freeman enlisted his wife, Michelle Freeman, and called George to, as Andrew put it, “Take a look at his mask company." George saw the potential and the partnership was formed. Since then, Immortal Masks has established itself as an industry leader, constantly pushing the envelope of what can be accomplished in silicone.
