THE KAIJU PROJECT DESIGN CONTEST!

Announcing The Kaiju Project!

Hey Giant Monster Fans!

We're excited to announce that we've teamed up with Adobe for an amazing collaboration, THE KAIJU PROJECT, to be unveiled at the Adobe MAX conference on October 4-8 in Los Angeles.

The Kaiju Project will bring together two of the most respected creature fabricators in Hollywood, Bill Bryan and Ted Haines, to lead two teams of Stan Winston School students in constructing a pair of walk-around Kaiju suits.

These marauding mega-monsters will then:

  • 1. BE PHOTOGRAPHED by students from Adobe Principal Designer Russell Brown's Photoshop Course, who will then design and print FULL-SIZE MOVIE POSTERS featuring the Kaiju to be displayed at the Adobe MAX conference.
  • 2. STAR in a short film homage to the classic "Man in a Rubber Suit" Kaiju movies.
  • 3. APPEAR LIVE at the Adobe MAX Conference in October.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I WIN THE DESIGN CONTEST? AND DOES MY CHARACTER STILL BELONG TO ME?

The winning designers will see their designs come to life in Stan Winston School's "How to Make a Kaiju" web course, star in a Kaiju short film and appear at ADOBE MAX in person and on nearly 60 movie posters created by Russell Brown's Photoshop class. In addition, the winners will receive "Kaiju designed by" credit in all promotional materials about the Kaiju Project, including in the Kaiju short film.  Finally, the winning artists will receive a 1-year subscription to Stan Winston School, 1-year of access to Adobe's Creative Cloud, and free "Watch and Chat" enrollment in Stan Winston School's LIVE ONLINE "How to Make a Kaiju" web course.

However, in order to be considered for all the above, the winning designers must transfer the copyright to their character to Stan Winston School and Adobe.
