Compy Test for The Lost World: Jurassic Park at SWS
Shane Mahan and a team of Stan WInston Studio puppeteers conducted extensive rehearsals with the compy rod puppet to prepare for the opening beach scene in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, which would be shot in Kaui.
"I actually built a little sandbox here at the studio," said Mahan, "and we used that to rehearse the Compy rod puppet hopping in, biting a piece of bread, swallowing it, and looking around. We got it down cold."
