Celebrating 'Practical' Creature FX with Harbinger Down
With Harbinger Down, Gillis pays homage to the monster movies of the late 70s and early 80s, specifically Ridley Scott's Alien and John Carpenter's The Thing, which both elevated the art of practical character creation to a new level of realism and visceral impact.
The most highly funded horror movie in Kickstarter's history, Harbinger Down is a high-intensity "all practical effects" sci-fi creature feature that's not just a movie but a mission: to preserve and promote the art of 'real monsters' and share that love with a new generation.
