About Christien

Over his more than 2-decade career, makeup effects designer, entrepreneur, and inventor of the revolutionary Prosthetic Transfer, Christien Tinsley has become a leader in innovative makeup fx techniques and has established himself as one of the top artists in the motion picture industry.

Tinsley has been honored with an Academy Award for Technical Achievement and an Academy Award nomination for Best Makeup for The Passion of the Christ. He was also awarded Emmys for his contributions to Behind the Candelabra and Westworld. In addition, Tinsley has contributed his makeup artistry to countless films and TV series, including Santa Clarita Diet, Emancipation, A Man Called Otto, Fury, American Horror Story, Jonah Hex, No Country for Old Men, Nip/Tuck, and many more.

Christien owns and operates Tinsley Studio and Tinsley Transfers, Inc. while maintaining his working relationships as a makeup artist and character designer for Hollywood’s best directors, actors, producers, and studios.
