Jamie S. Grove

Creature fx artist & master monster painter Jamie Grove is a self-taught artist who started creating creatures and characters when he was just 13 years old. As a young man, the films that sparked Jamie’s imagination were Jaws, Halloween, and, of course, The Terminator. Instead of being frightened by man-eating sharks, psycho killers, and cyborg assassins, Jamie found himself wondering, 'How did they do that?' Thus began Jamie’s lifelong passion for special makeup effects, which continues to this day.

Fortunate to have his character creation skills embraced and appreciated by the creature effects industry, Jamie's been an in-demand character FX artist for the last 2 decades. He considers himself lucky to have honed his skills at some of the most respected shops in the business, including Stan Winston Studio, Legacy Effects, KNB EFX, Amalgamated Dynamics, MastersFX, AFX Studio, Proteus Make-up FX, and Gary J. Tunnicliffe's Two Hours in the Dark, Inc., among others.
